Preview a self-contained GLB or glTF — export with Plus
The GLB Animation Studio opens .glb and .gltffiles right in your browser and turns their animations into shareable clips. Preview every embedded motion, frame it for where it's going, and record an MP4, WebM, GIF or transparent PNG. Your model is read locally — nothing is uploaded. Preview is free; all MP4, WebM, GIF and PNG exports require Plus. External buffers / images and Draco, Meshopt or KTX2 compression are unsupported. The export frame is drawn on the preview, and every format uses it.
How to record a GLB animation
- Drag a .glb or .gltf file onto the page, or click Open file.
- Pick an animation, or chain several into a sequence, and set the playback speed.
- Pick a shot — Explainer, App reaction, Model showcase or Vertical short — or set the frame, background, light and angle yourself.
- Check the export frame on the preview and choose a length, or Full motion for one clean loop.
- With Plus, hit MP4, WebM or GIF to record, or PNG for a still. MP4 keeps exporting if you switch tabs on a computer.
Great for game devs, streamers and creators
Make a preview GIF of a model you exported from Blender, capture an animated asset for a store listing, grab a transparent clip for an overlay, or turn a character's idle/walk/wave into short-form video — without opening a heavy 3D tool.
Frequently asked questions
Which files can I open?
Self-contained GLB and glTF 2.0 with embedded buffers and images. Separate resources, folders, ZIP archives, and Draco, Meshopt or KTX2 compression are unsupported.
How do I turn a GLB animation into a GIF or video?
Open a self-contained GLB or glTF, choose an animation or a sequence, pick a shot or a background, then export with Plus. MP4, WebM, GIF and PNG use the same 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9 frame shown on the preview. MP4 and GIF render every frame from the start of the take, so they match the preview.
Can I record on a transparent or green-screen background?
MP4 is for social posts and YouTube and has no transparency; transparent areas are saved on white. PNG supports a transparent background. WebM transparency depends on the browser and destination player or editor; GIF keeps only on/off transparency, without soft edges. A green-screen background is also available. Test the result in your destination tool.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The model is read and rendered locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so your files stay private on your device.
What can I record, and what needs a plan?
Loading, animation playback and staging previews are free. All exports of imported models — MP4, WebM, GIF and PNG — require Plus. Maker’s basic character exports retain their existing free access.
I don't have a GLB — can I make one?
Yes. Build a cute rigged 3D character in the Halcyone Character Maker and it comes with animations baked in, ready to stage and record.
